Client:
National Consortium of Colleges
(NCC)
The Challenge:
The NCC group delivers a range of solutions to help colleges provide
adult learning. The group produces a wide array of material and
programmes as well as hosting seminars as part of the governments
Train to Gain programme and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
The NCC had become aware that their marketing material looked
dated, were not in line with the latest company structure or the
products on offer. Everything needed to be updated and reviewed,
ideally with a theme that could tie it all together.
The Brief:
The Grow studio was approached to create a theme that would encapsulate all
the marketing material for the group, for the year. This would cover all
the printed materials, a range of brochures and a 20 page product directory
as well as revising their corporate website and seminar support material.
We were also asked to designed display stands as well as corporate stationary.
The main requirement was to make sure that everything the NCC produced was
eye catching, interesting and something that people would actually pick up
and read.
The Design:
We devised three themes; the one that was chosen was based around scientific
textbooks. The imagery shows a number of different elements from the natural
world developing and growing within a circle, or in a linear form to represent
increasing values on a bar graph. We simplified the layouts of the printed
brochures refreshing the design with increased white space, clarity and
an increase in design standards. Making the information easier to digest,
and giving a more premium 'look'.
The Results:
The new look printed materials were launched at a key NCC Seminar, at the end
of which it was noted that every delegate had taken the information away
with them rather than leaving it on their seats - a first! – and a
very good indicator that people valued the new materials and were prepared
to engage with it. There were a number of comments made to the NCC praising
the new look and as a body of work it has gone a long way to ensuring the
business is seen to be progressive, forward thinking and above all a quality
business to work with.
